Cheap offers come in the mail every day to get your carpets cleaned. But are they really a good deal?
they do have an awesome marketing program, but as with all large companies, some of the employees don’t do their job as they should, thats where small companies can shine. i have heard a stanley steemer worker spraying the cleaner looking carpets with plain water, and raking lines in it, making it look like it was steam-cleaned.
i work for a carpet cleaning company and we do the saem coupon its just something we use for advertisements noone would call us if our ad said 30$ a room or watever if u tell them the final price before u do the job then its ok bt sorry companys do the job then tell u the money price those r ppl that cant sell good lol
our company uses portables they work good f u have only 25 ft of hoses and bout 250-300 PSI
500 psi is for carpets, a portable can only get 212 degrees(and they cycle, temps drop) i use 270 degrees at the truck, you can’t hold my solution line too long, and the quick connects will burn you. thats the cleaning power needed, its like taking a cold shower using portables.
if u use 500 psi on some ppls carpet u would tear it to shreds it dont really matter how hot water is sometimes we use cold water and it wont get it as clean it still comes clean
never shred one yet, i clean carpets 7 days a week, heat is what cleans, 68 horsepower truck-mount, 850 cfm’s, 270 degrees constant. i will clean in minutes what it takes you in an hour with that weak portable, you need an upgrade.
HA in hour? we do 2rms in 10min or less and w/h’s in 30-45 min i aint saying portables r btter then truck mounts but portables are cheaper and they still do a good job
my last experience fighting a portable was in a mall where the power wasn’t enough to support the heat on the portable. the previous cleaners used a “dry clean” method, which was foaming like crazy into the small waste tank. i spent 4 hours cleaning, where my truckmount would blaze through in under an hour, after that, i sold my portable and went with a good size truck-mount and never looked back.
haha i hate when those dry clean ppl do tat like chem-dry ugh they leave nothing but residue in the carpet yeah we use portables in residential we dont do a whole lot of commercial cpet a bowling ally and a couple hotels every once in awhile but there carpet is easy to clean since its that short fiber indoor outdoor carpet
270 is no longer water, that is steam, how often do you repair your hoses?
about every 1000 hours, and you? and i fill the room with steam when i clean, yes, i clean better than you! the connections on the wand will burn your hand, you can’t hold the hose too long, and you sweat like a pig working for me!
burn your hand and and ruin the carpet
yea if you want to pay twice more then you should
I was thinking the same thing
portables suck I have them and a truck mount its like night and day
stick with your portables, rookie.
it’s boiling water.
olefins are about 300 degrees melting point. never had a problem with berbers, or any other carpet or furniture. the temp goes down just from the spray tip to the carpet, that 1″ of travel cools the water quite a bit, so i know i’m never worried about damages. i have 700 hours on my new genesis, always keep the temp maxed out, never any probs….i would say about 300-350 houses+furniture all using high heat.
I use to work for stanley Steemer, Good company I was top10 nationwide in add-on sales 45kper yr It’s the guy behind the wand that’s more important than the machine(although it helps) I am convinced I can clean better with a portable than most of the guys I worked with. vacuuming, raking, prespraying, and slow even dry strokes and using the cleaning pie to ur advantage makes the difference.
I was 3days on the job and the guy training me showed me how to “really get it clean fast” I had already been cretifed for commercial carpet cleaing by the I.I.C.R.C. He takes the vac off the wand a proceeds to SOAK the carpet with the wand on the ground like he’s steaming but not extracting! I was like What the H___ are you doing? 2 other times a Manger mix Citrus, POG, Prespray, Coffe remover, and a few other things in the sprayer telling me “this works great”
I made him pour it out mixed just commercial prespray and hot water (the carpet was trashed) and had him use the customers vacuum, pre sprayed, raked it in, and he couldn’t believe how easy and good the carpet came out. I think lack of education was his problem. B4 I got there everyone was trained to “go over it till it comes clean” everyone was using Citrus or Soil Filtration on everything.
I offer packages .20 for basic pretreat included .30 if it needs deep cleaning I know u say bait & switch but y should some one who cleans every 6months pay the say as someone who hasn’t cleaned in 2yrs or more? .40 includes protector extra 4 odor removal and finally $1.00 per sqft for a 9 step wall to wall cleaning something 4 everyone. even put air movers down. Gold, Platinum, & Diamond. $80 minimum
I think Sqft is the only fair way besides hourly to charge. it also depends on the value of the carpet landlords and tents won’t pay the same as a homeowner also if the carpet is a 10g rug they will pay more than a $500 indor outdoor carpet
seriously, how can you believe they can do all that for $35
most of the time the tech is so in such a hurry that the carpet is not properly cleaned in the first place.
